Project Introduction
The F.C.E. project for B&G Excavating involved the design of a modern heavy-equipment maintenance/storage and office facility, parking area and an outside covered storage enclosure from undeveloped land. The building and landscaping are a benchmark for which F.C.E. aspires to in all designs. The site is located north of Lake Tahoe in the town of Tahoe Vista, CA and is bordered on the south by forest. B&G is in an industrial area with several other businesses including Sierra Pacific Power Company offices and staging area.
Site Design
The site was designed for functionality with a high-level of aesthetic appeal demonstrated through the building materials, simple/clean architecture and emphasis on landscaping that integrates the natural surroundings. All of the on-site drainage facilities for property run-off are incorporated in such a way as to blend with the landscaping, creating a property design that increases the value of the entire commercial area and encourages high standards for future growth of surrounding businesses.
Project Uniqueness
The project took an undeveloped area and through meticulous planning and engineering created the underground utilities, above ground layout, land development for best-management-practices, and structural facilities. We have extensive knowledge of designing for extreme weather conditions and are experts on engineering for long-term stability in harsh settings, as was the case for this project.
Project Management
F.C.E. ensures that our level of professionalism and expectations are maintained throughout the construction process. We are experts on land management and our qualified staff are capable of overseeing construction of the project through completion and of handling any implications that arise throughout the process, as we did for this development. We were involved with all of the project permitting through the Placer County Planning Department and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and we have extensive experience working with these and all other local regulatory agencies.
