Dollar Hill II is a community of condominiums located on Highway 28 (North Lake Blvd) 2 miles east of Tahoe City, CA, and bordered on the north by forest. The condos serve as a vacation destination in Tahoe and offer full amenities such as tennis courts, pool, spa, sauna, and private clubhouse. The appearance of the site is important for marketing and satisfaction of the guests and property owners.
Much like our design for the improvement of The Villas condominiums, this project required a retrofit plan to handle the onsite drainage of property run-off, erosion control and winterization, as well as a water line replacement plan. F.C.E. was commissioned to determine the most cost-effective approach to the site engineering with limited disturbance of the existing site and improving the appearance of the community with any additional drainage facilities designed in the plan.
Working with the homeowners association of Dollar Hill II to retrofit the existing site with the improvements, F.C.E. was able to create best management practices for drainage and erosion control that superbly blend with the landscape and even add improved aesthetic features to much of the property. We have extensive knowledge of designing for extreme weather conditions and are experts on engineering for long-term stability in harsh settings, as was the case for this project.
The construction of improvements to Dollar Hill II were monitored and inspected by F.C.E. to ensure that the land development procedures specified by F.C.E. were followed in order to prevent erosion, vegetation damage, and proper handling of all site drainage. We specialize in land management and the level of quality we aspire to can be seen in all of our projects. We work closely with all contracting construction companies to ensure satisfaction in every aspect of a job and reasonable expectations for our designs. We were involved in all of the permitting for this project through the Tahoe City Public Utility District and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and we have extensive experience working with these and all other local regulatory agencies.
We are proud to have successfully designed the improvement plans for the Dollar Hill II condominiums to bring the site up to code as required local regulations. The site plan creates a high level of visual appeal for a community in the Tahoe basin with a design that superbly blends with the surroundings and makes the best use of the land and available area for ease of access and maintenance and long-term stability.
